- Variance of manual & electronic devices and appropriate selection for the client
- Effectiveness of treatment – Including needle depth, adjunctive solutions, and post-treatment skincare
- Handling adverse reactions
- Appropriate combination of future treatments with micro-needling
Consultations
- Client selection –Including client medical history, medications and supplements
- Skin analysis and pre-treatment considerations
- Contraindications and cautions
- Importance of ‘Informed Consent’
Demonstration and Practice Sessions
- Client pre-treatment preparation – Including the use of topical anaesthesia
- Appropriate use of aseptic, sterile and clean techniques
- Importance and explanation / description of sensation during treatment
- Distraction techniques & Pain Management
- Appropriate use of devices
- Effective treatment techniques
- Health and safety management: Including asepsis, safe handling of bodily fluids, plus management of equipment and appropriate disposal
- Use of homecare products
- Number and frequency of treatments
- Handling complaints

- Maintaining client records
- Importance of pre & post treatment photographs
